GGG & G and The Crossing
1646 introduces two video installations by Lisa Jeannin (SWE) and Rolf Schuurmans (NL).
Product of both individual (The Crossing) and collaborative effort (GGG & G), the artists’ work is extremely detailed, worked out videos displayed as multiple-channel screenings.
As much as the action(s) evolve before our eyes in a multiplicity of times and spaces, so is our imagination triggered by the many references the artists make use of. In wildly fantastic, dreamlike situations puppets meet zombies, goddesses, martial arts warriors.
Story lines cross each other to deal with reality’s chaos and the complicated obviousness of life: fantasy as a subversive force aimed against order and reason who threaten humour and human dignity with death.
The exhibition will open at 1646 on November the 7th at 19.00 and stay open till December the 6th
